Info : Since their emergence in the early 1980s, Alien Sex Fiend have remained one of the most loved and longstanding pioneers of the Goth movement. Fusing themes of horror, humour, inner turmoil and outer space with an industrial and electronic sound years ahead of its time, the band scored countless indie chart hits, found success across Europe, America and Japan and won a dedicated fanbase which exists to this day.

This set charts 35 years of the band's singles, album highlights and fan favourites, along with newly unearthed alternative mixes of two of their most loved songs and two mixes of brand new tracks taken from their forthcoming new album, "Possessed".

The list of artists inspired by Nik and Mrs Fiend's unique brew of heavy, lysergic sonic alchemy- whether they knew it or not - is a long one� from Prodigy to Sleaford Mods. But these guys are the originals, and a national institution to those in the know.

We had first talked about the idea of a compilation that would cover the entire history of the band some time ago... Such a collection would need to link together Anagram/Cherry Red Records releases (from our earlier years) with our own 13th Moon Records releases (from the mid 90s onwards)... We'd been working with our old label Cherry Red more and more closely over recent years and particularly on the two Box Sets of Classic Albums (issued in 2015 and 2016) - after all we are THE experts in all things ASF!! whether that's unreleased recordings, which version is which, who did what, when, or where photos are from and so on. From an initial loose discussion about such a release, and talks about our new studio album (which is in progress), we started to think about what tracks to include... all of the "Best Of" and "Singles" compilations have more or less sold out, hmmmm... then we suddenly realised that 2017 is our 35th anniversary year - (blimey, how did that happen!!??) - and although yes that would be an ideal reason for such a release - that date was very fast approaching - aarghhh!... so if we were gonna do it we'd have to start straight away... To quote Lux Interior (from the Cramps) "To hell with the radiation, let's go!" so we decided to put work on the new album to one side while we went back through our history... we have dug recordings and photos out of the Fiend archives - including some alternate mixes from the original recording sessions that have never been released (until now!) and there are lots of pics that have never been seen before - there were photos all over Fiend HQ while we were assembling the story of ASF in pictures for the booklet. Of course we couldn't include everything - in fact we could have created an entirely different 2nd, 3rd or 4th version!

It was quite a cathartic project and a good way of doing something creative while we were still dealing with the loss of Doc Milton... and it was a re-connection with our past from both a music as well as a photos / artwork perspective - we even got to work with The Wolfman on the design layouts again (you might remember him from the early Anagram albums).... We're proud of all of our past and of all the people who have been involved with ASF over the years - from the original band members to other musicians, from recording studio sound engineers to our trusty road crew aka the space cadets, photographers we've worked with and so on... each and every person has played a part - however small or unsung - in this journey...

And here is the result! We have called this collection "Fiendology" - it runs from the 1982 demo version of "R.I.P. (Blue Crumb Truck)" all the way through our history to 2017 A.D. with a couple of tasters from our yet-to-be-released new studio album "Possessed". We added the words and Beyond because we are intending to go forward. BUT rather than having tracks in chronological order i.e. a year by year list, this is more like radio show... or a mix tape... it's a far out 35 year trip...
