Some f(r)iends of ours recently started racing their new car, called "Nosferatu" also known as "The Beast", & Nik n I were kindly invited by the Nosferatu crew (or should I say slaves?) to visit them & to see the car run at the Nationals meeting which was held in June .... The Fearless Count (driver Vince) & The Mysterious Count (owner Ray) have been Fiend fans since they were teenage vampires. The car is in the "Sportsman" class which means that they don't get big money sponsors supporting them, so racing the car & the cost of its upkeep really is a labour of love for everyone involved - we can identify with that one guys! It's a shame that after the first race of the day there was a major engine problem which meant that they had to withdraw from the later rounds - but our visit cheered everyone up no end - Nik even got to sit in the hot seat of Nosferatu - so we're more than glad to have been of service putting the smile back on their faces!

The green R.I.P. lettering on the car (you can see it behind me 'ead!) is a homage to Alien Sex Fiend & the song "R.I.P."- we're honoured - thank you chaps! ..

Commiserations to every else who entered the competition & thank you for taking part. Yet again there was a flood of entries from all over the planet. There were some amusing comments amongst the entries too, thank you for those! The favourite was deemed to be from Anthony in Australia who included the following plea in his email entry "Please send me a free t-shirt, I actually really need it.  I ripped up and scribbled on all of my tops and I can't afford more as I'm unemployable due to the fact that all of my clothes are ripped up and scribbled on...". Although he didn't win he will be receiving some free stickers as a consolation prize, I hope that he will be able to stick them over the holes in his clothes & become gainfully employed very soon!! Nik said "The only other alternative is for him to look for work as a nude life model, this would completely do away with the need for clothes!"

Loads of people have seen this - check it out on SKY Channel #378 around 9.30pm or go to www.rockworld.tv It features very early Alien Sex Fiend footage, including "I Am A Product".

NCIS
The CBS primetime TV action drama series (showing on Ch 5 in UK), NCIS, follows a fictional team of Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents. It has featured the ASF songs "Lips Can't Go" (from the Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain? album) , "Alien" (Another Planet) and "Alien Sex Fiend" (Open Head Surgery).

SORRY, I'VE GOT NO HEAD
This recent BBC TV children's comedy sketch show included part of Alien Sex Fiend's song "New Christian Music" in its soundtrack! Apparently the humour is "quite mature" so a lot of adults like it.

COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED

So ALL Alien Sex Fiend releases - whether back catalogue or new releases & whether DVDs or CDs - were severely affected for over 2 months. Pinnacle was the biggest independent distributor in Europe, representing more than 300 record labels, & was holding over 12 million units of stock when it went under, the stock was then stuck in limbo in the warehouses & that caused a lot of disruption all round. Some copies of ASF's "Information Overload" & "Para-Abnormal" CDs are STILL stuck due to continuing legal bollox.

The timing was bad too, although Alien Sex Fiend is not a big Christmas selling type band, "RIP - A 12" Collection" was released on November 22nd 2008 & within 2 weeks was caught up in the disaster. It is a shit situation for all of the record labels involved, it is unlikely that they will get paid for sales dating back months & the artists who made those records won't get paid either.

Luckily Plastic Head Distribution have come to the rescue & from now on they will be distributing 13th Moon Records releases (via Nova). Coincidentally Anagram/Cherry Red Records will also be going through Plastic Head in future, so at least all ASF releases (CD & DVD) will be under the same roof as they used to be with Pinnacle.

The demise of Pinnacle has been a damned spanner in the works.... we were working in the studio on new songs when it all kicked off.... it threw things up in the air for a couple of months.... it's wasted time & cost money... oh the joys of running yer own label! ha! we know it's not just us & we know things change, & in the bigger scheme of things like the very sad news above, well, what the hell - BUT! All we wanna do is get on with IT but even now the situation is not 100% settled down. The new deal with PHD is only just in place & the full domino effect of Pinnacle's downfall is still being felt, we don't yet know what all the repercussions will be... so the upshot is we're holding off releasing anything new until we are more sure of our ground.

Anyway enough with the doom & gloom.... to end on a positive note (duh dah) - we're STILL here, we're back in the studio now & Nik's been doing some paintings - & we're getting back on track ...
