Alien Sex Fiend - Who's Been Sleeping In My
Brain? Album Info :
Here come The Fiends! Alien Sex Fiend's legendary debut ground-breaking
album "Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain?" captured the band's
initial burst of psychotic energy and offered more than the group's image
may have suggested : the gothic cross-rhythms, mutant surf guitar lines
and stabbed keyboard pulses created a primal electro-goth that it was actually
possible to dance to. All topped off with Nik Fiend's unique Ziggy from
the crypt vocals. Produced by ace knob twiddler Youth (of Killing Joke
fame) "Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain?" includes the indie chart
hit singles "Ignore The Machine" and "Lips Can't Go".
Two bonus live cuts - "New Christian Music" and "Crazee"
- were added to the CD issue in 1989 to give 12 slices of pure Batcave
era Alien Sex Fiend anthems. In August 2001 the CD was re-issued on Anagram
Records' Goth Series Collection. Although the front cover was the same
as the original vinyl and previous CD release, the rest of the packaging
was updated and the booklet included the full lyrics hand-written by Nik
Fiend along with photos from the early Batcave gigs as well as a full discography.
The CD itself was updated to a picture disc with a photo of the band.
February 2015 : This re-issue features the Who's Been Sleeping In My Brain? vinyl album as one CD of a 4 CD Box Set entitled Classic Albums and BBC Sessions Collection with additional bonus tracks, including the infamous John Peel BBC sessions. The CD has been packaged in a mini-replica of the original LP sleeve.
August 2015 : Deluxe Double Vinyl LP re-issue, Limited Edition, discs in red and black splatter effect coloured vinyl. Gatefold sleeve, inner features full lyrics written out by Nik Fiend.
July 2022 : US Vinyl LP re-issue, Limited Edition, disc in red and black splatter effect coloured vinyl. Inner sleve features original full lyrics written out by Nik Fiend.
Trainspotter corner : The track "Black Rabbit" features Johnnie Ha Ha (drummer) on piano and Yaxi (guitarist) on drums doing a spoof of the UK's cheeky cockney chappies Chas n Dave.
